Food & Beverage Servers
The Preluna Hotel & Spa is currently looking for Food & Beverage Servers to join our Food & Beverage Department.
This position will require the successful candidate to:
- Greet hotel guests and customers;
- Take food and beverage orders;
- Serve food and beverages;
- Clean and set tables;
- Carry out other restaurant duties which may also include back of house duties.
The ideal candidate must be smart in appearance, well-organized, and must have excellent communication skills and a flair for customer service. We are inviting positive, motivated and enthusiastic persons with a professional approach to apply for this position.
Interested candidates must possess:
- Good command of English;
- Communication skills;
- Flair for Customer Service;
Knowledge of other languages will be considered an asset.
Professional host/food & beverage server to join our team at Sakura.
The chosen individual will be required to host, assist and serve different clientele with Japanese Cuisine within the Preluna Hotel and ensure the highest standard of both food presentation and service according to the Japanese traditional cuisine and service standards. The purpose is also to create an Asian environment within the Sakura Japanese restaurant. We are offering a full time position on a definite contract basis with flexible hours.
-Responsible to host and greet clients and make them feel welcomed
-Directly responsible in overseeing food standards, presentation and service are always of the highest level.
-Responsible to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the restaurant service areas
-Come forward with suggestions for new menus and service procedures especially related to Asian etiquette
-To coordinate and communicate with the Asian chefs versus the hotel management.
-To explain the Japanese Menu and ingredients to both clients and the other staff in order to create consistency
-Responsible for the order taking
-Responsible for valuables and equipment in the restaurant areas
-Controls wastage and utilities commodities to the best advantage
Requires Skills and Competences:
We are looking for a well groomed with a sociable and smart personality, who posses excellent communication skills, a great work ethic and a customer oriented approach.
Moreover, the ideal candidate would posses the ability to:
- Clean tables and restaurant area.
-Prepare drinks and serve to customers at the counter/bar, or on the terrace.
- Receive and check goods.
-Store goods in cold-storage room or pantry.
-Welcome customers on arrival in restaurant, assign table and offer menu.
-Receive customer and take orders for drinks.
- Prepare hot drinks, sandwiches, pastries and salads.
-Hand order to customer (on plate, in take-away container, on serving tray...)
-Advise customer on choice of meals according to tastes and day's specials.
-Inform customer on products (origin, recipes...) and composition of products (salads, sandwiches...).
Qualifications and Experience:
-Ideally a Degree in Hospitality and Catering; or at least three years experience in a similar position.
-Fluency in English Language.
-Knowledge of Japanese language will be considered an asset.
